“Summer Lovin’…”

“Summer lovin’ had me a blast

Summer lovin’ happened so fast…”

Yes, I just referenced Grease. And no, I am not ashamed! What type of musical-theater junkie would I be if I didn’t make references every once in a while? Maybe I’ll challenge myself to make five more references to different musicals in this blog post! Anyway…

Summer is here! Well, it’s been here for a while, but I’m just behind on writing a post about it. 😂 Although it can get REALLY hot (especially here in Missouri), it is one of the many “Seasons of Love” (Rent). Was that too much of a stretch for a reference??? Oh well… I’m counting it! 😜 To make that musical reference less of a stretch, I’ll try to validate why summer is a season for love: There are so many wonderful activities you can do with your loved ones in the summer!!!! Barbecues, swimming, movie nights… the list goes on! It is a wonderful time to create “Memory” (Cats) after memory with family and friends. That reference flowed a bit better, huh? 😉

Today, our little family decided to go swimming at the lake (we have quite an abundance of those here in Branson). After grabbing some Subway sandwiches and some Watermelon Freezes from Taco Bell during their “Happier Hour,” we headed out. Every child needs to experience being held in the shallow waters of a lake… It’s the “Circle of Life” (Lion King). Was that one too far? 😂😂😂 Gwen LOVED it! She splashed around and she seemed to really enjoy the feeling of being weightless in the water. And I must mention that the water was “Practically Perfect” (Mary Poppins)!

Here is a picture of us swimming away (Gwen was wearing a swimsuit that was a tad bit big on her, so ignore the falling strap 😝 ):

Thank you for reading! Please like, share, and comment!!! That’s “All I Ask of You” (Phantom of the Opera)… And that’s five references! Woohoo! 😜😜😜

Summers also made me write poems or songs not because I’ma poet or song writer But because I get bored at home. I just can’t bare the humidity outside. 😀

Enjoy your time with the family.
